Thanksgiving in a Bowl

I found this recipe a few months back and think it's delicious! Its super simple to make and not too costly, which are two of my favorite things, especially when it comes to cooking.

I call it Thanksgiving in a bowl because it reminds me of turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy put together.

What you'll need:

- 2lbs chicken breasts (I usually buy Tyson trimmed & ready boneless skinless chicken breast portions)

- 2 cans cream of chicken soup

- 14.5oz. reduced sodium chicken broth

- 2 packets of brown gravy mix

- 1/4c all purpose flour

- your favorite chicken seasoning. I use McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Chicken Seasoning. But you can also use a little bit of pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and/or paprika. Whatever your heart desires!

- Crockpot (and don't forget that liner! It's going to save you so much cleaning time!)

- Instant mashed potatoes or minute white rice

1. Put liner in crockpot (tip: I like to spray it with a little bit of vegetable oil spray just so it doesn't stick too much)

2. Place chicken in crockpot

3. Season your chicken

4. In a separate bowl combine chicken soup (both cans), chicken broth, gravy packets, and flour

5. Pour mixture in crockpot over the chicken

6 Cover crockpot and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6 hours

7. When ready, shred chicken (tip: use a hand blender instead of forks, it's so much easier! But keep it on the lowest setting so you don't splash your mixture everywhere)

8. While that's cooling down, make your instant potatoes or minute rice according to instructions on the box. The potatoes definitely adds that "Thanksgiving" taste, but this is also good served over rice

9. Make your bowl and enjoy!

Thanks for talking with me! Let me know how you liked this recipe! :)
